3/21/2024 0 Comments Four seasons punta mitaBut I feel the gym at the Four Seasons is a little better than the St Regis. I did like the St Regis pool-like relaxation area better than the relaxation room at the Four Seasons. Spa and Gym: Tie Both are good and comparable. However, I found the services occurred with greater frequency at the Four Seasons than at the St Regis. The St Regis offers mini massages, popsicles, and sunglass cleaning and the Four Seasons provides fruit, smoothies, ice cream, and cold towels and face mister, and sunglass cleaning. Furthermore, both resorts provide “goodies” at the beach and pool area. The St Regis has some of this type furniture but in much shorter supply. Also, the beach furniture at the Four Seasons is amazing, large king size cabanas, nice hammocks, and mini-beds. The Four Seasons has two beach areas that you can swim, compared to a tiny beach area that you can swim in the St Regis. The Beach: Advantage Four Seasons In this department the Four Seasons wins hands-down. Lastly, The lobby and hotel entrance at the St Regis is also more impressive. Thus, even when the hotel is sold out it feels like the hotel is empty. Further, the St Regis has multiple walkways to the same place, this might sound confusing to read but it serves the purpose of making the resort feel less crowded because people are walking along different paths. In the Four Seasons while the restaurants and lobby is planned this way the rest of the resort is kind of all over the place. The St Regis’ layout is horizontal: the rooms, restaurants, and most of the rooms are linearly planned along a long stretch of ocean. This again has something to do with the layout as well. The Four Seasons is a slightly larger hotel than the St Regis and it does have more rooms and feels larger as well. The Four Seasons pools are also heated, but way too warm for the summer-need to be adjusted for the seasons. However, the main infinity pool at the Four Seasons is awesome it hovers above a cliff over looking the ocean and has better views than any of the pools at the St Regis. Moreover, there are two pools at the Four Seasons, compared to three ocean facing pools at the St Regis. This also includes the adult pool, which unlike the St Regis is not facing the ocean and is located inside a garden area. This is not the case at the Four Seasons where many of the structures are further from the ocean and situated in a garden area. Therefore most of the buildings are situated near a nice garden and most face the ocean. The St Regis built their buildings around either the beach, golf course, and pretty common areas such as the pools and gardens. However, as the Four Seasons resorts was built first and the St Regis came several years after, the St Regis did make some improvements on some of the Four Seasons’ flaws. Hotel Grounds and Pools: Slight Advantage St Regis In comparing the grounds and layout of the resorts the two resorts are almost clones. However, with that said there are subtle and notable differences between the two resorts. Comparing the two resorts is akin to comparing a Lamborghini and Ferrari – both resorts are amazing – and if you get a chance to stay at either one consider yourself very lucky. I just returned from a stay at the Four Seasons and I have previously stayed at the St Regis several times over the last couple of years in different categories of rooms. This review is along time in the making – I was waiting to stay at both resorts before writing a review. In comparing the grounds and layout of the resorts the two resorts are almost clones.
